Data Privacy

All data is held in accordance with UK data protection laws.

Only data necessary to carry out astrological work is held. Data needed for an astrological consultation is date, time and place of birth. Your email address, contact number, and biographical information (if given). All such data is securely held and is kept confidential. Your data is never shared with anyone.

Your birth data is archived securely within my astrological software for an indefinite period. This allows me to respond to future requests from you for astrological work as required.

Printed copies of charts, emails or information is held securely for up to ten years after our most recent contact to comply with professional recommendations and legal requirements.

Emails may be stored indefinitely on my computer or secure email server. This allows me to access past email trails to support future requests from you for astrological work.

If you request or give permission for me to make a recording of any of our sessions, this will be deleted from my files and/or from the server once you confirm receipt or 28 days after the link is sent to you to download, whichever is later.

If you have requested to be added to my mailing list, your name and email address will be held confidentially and securely. Your data is never shared with any third party. You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time on request or by unsubscribing.

Use of cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer hard drive. Cookies allows websites to respond to you as an individual. You may choose to accept or decline cookies. Disabling cookies may limit the full experience of the Site

Links to other websites

The Site may contain links to other websites of interest. We cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide while visiting such sites; such sites are not governed by this Terms of Service.

Carole Taylor reserves the right to change or modify any of the terms and conditions contained in these Terms of Service at any time. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review the Site and these Terms of Service from time to time. Your continued use of the Site after such modifications to this Agreement will constitute acknowledgment of the modified Terms of Service and agreement to abide and be bound by the modified Terms of Service.

Termination of Use

Carole Taylor shall have the right to immediately terminate or suspend, at her discretion, your access to all or part of the Site with or without notice for any reason.

Disclaimer of Warranty

You expressly agree that use of the Site is at your sole risk and discretion. The Site and all content and other information contained on the Site is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. Carole Taylor makes no warranty that (i) the Site and content or information will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, (ii) the results that may be obtained from use of this Site will be effective, accurate or reliable. The Site may include technical mistakes, inaccuracies or typographical errors. Carole Taylor reserves the right to change the Site content and information at any time without notice.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Carole Taylor or her affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive damages or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages whatsoever arising out of or related to your use of the Site, the content and other information obtained therein.

Certain jurisdictions prohibit the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages; thus the above limitations may not apply to you.

Governing Law

Legal Notice Concerning Astrology

Before you book a consultation with me, please read the following.

Astrology can be considered an art and a craft; it is not a science in the usual modern sense of that word. A birth chart or horoscope is a symbolic map of the heavens at a given time and place, but neither the device of the horoscope itself, nor any interpretation arising from it, provide information which would satisfy modern methods of scientific testing.

Astrology is perhaps best understood as a practice which has arisen from the divinatory and/or magical mindset prevalent in ancient times. The astrologer cannot offer certainties or guarantees of a particular outcome. The content of a chart reading consists of interpretations made by me, the astrologer, of symbols, all of which (being symbols) have potentially a wide range of possible meanings. It can lead to insights into your character and life, but only you can determine if these insights are true or meaningful. I will offer interpretations of your chart based on my knowledge of astrological symbolism and my understanding of what you tell me about yourself and your life, but it is up to you what you do with that information. No astrological interpretation provided by me comes with an instruction to act in a particular way and you are responsible at all times for how, or whether, you decide to act on the information and interpretations given by me. My interpretation of any birth chart rests on the premise that all individuals are able to act according to their own free will; they are not offered as a substitute for your own critical judgement. Forecast interpretations are offered as possible future trends, usually within an outlined time frame, but with the same provisos.

Everything contained in my astrological reports arises from my interpretation of your birth chart based on the birth data you supply to me. If the birth data you supply is incorrect, then the analysis is not for you.

hCaptcha

I use the hCaptcha anti-bot service (hereinafter "hCaptcha") on our website. This service is provided by Intuition Machines, Inc., a Delaware US Corporation ("IMI"). hCaptcha is used to check whether the data entered on our website (such as on a login page or contact form) has been entered by a human or by an automated program. To do this, hCaptcha analyzes the behavior of the website or mobile app visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website or mobile app visitor enters a part of the website or app with hCaptcha enabled. For the analysis, hCaptcha evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, how long the visitor has been on the website or app, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis will be forwarded to IMI. hCaptcha analysis in the "invisible mode" may take place completely in the background. Website or app visitors are not advised that such an analysis is taking place if the user is not shown a challenge. Data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (DSGVO): the website or mobile app operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its site from abusive automated crawling and spam. IMI acts as a "data processor" acting on behalf of its customers as defined under the GDPR, and a "service provider" for the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
